May

And before you know it, it’s the last month of spring, and you can start to feel the warmth of summer in the air. The variety of fruits and vegetables begins to flourish, with the likes of elderflower appearing towards the end of the month – perfect for a refreshing cordial on warmer days.

JUST IN: broad beans, chervil, chillies, elderflower (end of month), kohlrabi, lettuce, new potatoes

STAYING IN SEASON: asparagus, carrots, garlic, field rhubarb, hispi cabbage, jersey royals, pak choi, radishes, sorrel, spinach, watercress

LAST MONTH TO ENJOY: cauliflower, purple sprouting broccoli, spring greens, spring onions, wild garlic
